Journal page, at last!

Where am I going???A while ago I put that cool little badge on my blog sidebar, “Art Journal Every Day” with full intention of doing just that.  Opps 😦   It’s always that first hurdle to jump over that’s the highest.  Not that I did this page in one day–this was 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there until finally I had something I wanted to say.  This is far from my first art journaling experience.  I’ve got one that’s full and a few others with good starts on them.  It’s just that I haven’t done anything in such a long time it was hard to pick up the momentum to begin again.

I’ve got a couple of good inspirations drifting about in my head tho’; one is the journal I made from a 22 x 30 sheet of watercolor paper per the instructions in Pam Carriker’s book, “Art at the Speed of Life”.  I’m in the process of throwing leftover paint and whatnot on the pages before I actually journal in them.  The second idea comes from something I read on Pinterest, 10 tips from the poetry of Rumi.  I love Rumi and I thought it would be cool to use each of those 10 quotes as journal prompts.  Hopefully if I complete that I will somehow become wiser and better spoken??  We’ll see.

As a side note, I apologize for not putting links to the above book or the Pinterest page.  I haven’t quite had much luck with learning that yet.  If anyone can point me to easy to understand instructions (i.e. Blog stuff for dummies) I would greatly appreciate the help.  Thanks!

About artsynaturenut

I'm a creative warrior constantly fighting my battle with my muse against that nasty critic. I love to paint and do mixed media work either on the canvas or with art journals. I'll dabble in just about everything--bookmaking, photography, writing, etc. and get excited about combining them. Hence the mixed media!

  1. Every day, that is such a commitment! Good for you 🙂
I also so love Rumi, he is so good at saying what’s in my heart. Can’t wait to see what you do with those.
