Taking my journal out for coffee

I Am an Artist

Suggestion from the “Journal Junkies” is to take your journal out for coffee.  Picked a table in the corner to eat my lunch and just observe what was going on around me.  It was a late lunch so it was pretty quiet which probably made it easier to sit at a table by myself.

Noticed a little old lady sitting by herself staring out the window.  Finally a cab parks in front and the cab driver comes in.  He calls out her name even though she was sitting right in front of him.  She  slowly gets up and makes her way to the door.  The cab driver waits but he looks impatient.  They walk out to the cab and the driver walks around to the driver’s side then he catches himself and walks back to open the door and help her in.  I don’t think he was uncaring I just think he was not very observant.  Ahh–gentle reminder to be in the moment and be aware.

It was pleasant to sit and draw and jot down a few observations.  I think my journal will be asking for a latte pretty soon.

About artsynaturenut

I'm a creative warrior constantly fighting my battle with my muse against that nasty critic. I love to paint and do mixed media work either on the canvas or with art journals. I'll dabble in just about everything--bookmaking, photography, writing, etc. and get excited about combining them. Hence the mixed media!
