Garden Tunnel book

Garden Tunnel book

Tried this on a whim.  The Cloth Paper Scissors – Jan.-Feb. 2013 magazine issue had a 2 page tutorial on making a tunnel book.  It sounded intriguing  so I gave it a shot.  Of course I went a little further because like most artists once we start something simple it’s not long before we start thinking “what if I…….”!  This was fun and I learned a lot about paper engineering in the process.  This actually looks better in real life than in photographs.  I takes a better photographer or a different camera to get the real feel of the depth.

Been doing great this year on my goal of working almost every day.  So far I’ve made an accordion memory book for my niece, seven “twinchies”, done a lot of art journaling and now this book.  I also, along the way, have painted some basic backgrounds on about eight small canvases and when the right inspiration hits they are ready to go.  How is your creative 2013 going; are you reaching your artistic goals for the year so far?

About artsynaturenut

I'm a creative warrior constantly fighting my battle with my muse against that nasty critic. I love to paint and do mixed media work either on the canvas or with art journals. I'll dabble in just about everything--bookmaking, photography, writing, etc. and get excited about combining them. Hence the mixed media!
